History of Larrabee, Wisconsin
The Town of Larrabee comprises Township 25 north of Range 14 east.
The town is named for Charles H. Larrabee, a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin at the time the town was formed.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 33.6 square miles (87.0 km2), of which 33.4 square miles (86.5 km2) is land, and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km2; 0.68%) is water.
It is bounded on the north by Shawano County, on the east by the Town of Matteson, on the south by Bear Creek, and on the west by Dupont.
The first settlement was made by Norman Clinton, on Section 23, in March 1855.
The first town meeting was held at the house of U. P. Clinton on April 2, 1861.
The first town officers were: Chairman - U. P. Clinton; Supervisors - H. P. Truesdale, G. Smith; Clerk -L. W. Clinton; Treasurer-E.W. Bennett; Justices of the Peace-John Sharp, J. Bird, J. Doty, D. Melton; Assessors - N. Clinton, L. W. Clinton, D. Melton.
